Hildegard Herrmann-Schneider

Thursday, October 22, 2015

This announcement has come to us from Hildegard Herrmann-Schneider of RISM Landesleitung Tirol-Südtirol & OFM Austria:

Premieres of new sounds: Presenting music from the Biblioteca dell’Accademia nazionale dei Lincei e Corsiniana in Rome (I-Rli), the Biblioteca nazionale centrale in Rome (I-Rn), and the Santini-Bibliothek in Münster (D-MÜs) on an organ built by the Tyrolean organ builder Johann Konrad Wörle (also known as Giovanni Corrado Verlè) in 1744 at the Oratorio del Crocifisso in Rome.

Using the RISM database, it was possible to seek out appropriate repertoire in a short amount of time for a sound portrait of this organ, an instrument typical of its maker.

For more information about this CD, including sound samples and an excerpt from the 96-page accompanying book, visit Musikland Tirol.

Below, listen to this organ in a work by Gaetano Franzaroli (before 1700-after 1756), Arpeggio, F minor, Partimento (excerpt). From the collective manuscript Bassi per bene accompagnare […] D-MÜs SANT Hs 1540 (RISM ID no. 451013954)
