RISM Modern Monday: Richard Strauss

Monday, January 18, 2016

The second part of our RISM Modern Monday series is dedicated to Richard Strauss (1864-1949), showing you again how sources in the RISM database extend well past the year 1800.

Through a partnership with the Richard Strauss Institute, we have integrated their index of sources (RSQV) into the RISM database. We have imported only the most basic fields from these records, but the full source descriptions can be consulted by clicking on a link to the RSQV in each RISM entry.

Most of the nearly 700 sources in the RISM database are housed in the Richard Strauss Archive in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (D-GPrsa). Other libraries that are important for Strauss researchers are the Bavarian State Library in Munich (D-Mbs), the Austrian National Library in Vienna (A-Wn), and the Morgan Library in New York City (US-NYpm).
