New FONCA-RISM project in Mexico City | FONCA-RISM: Nuevo Proyecto en la Ciudad de México

We have received the following announcement from John Lazos (RISM Mexico/Canada):

Dr. John Lazos, who has collaborated with RISM to catalogue over 500 music works from Mexico, just received a grant from FONCA (Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes). This grant permits Dr. Lazos to catalogue around 450 music works from the Archivo Musical del Colegio de Vizcainas (AMCV, RISM siglum: MEX-Mahn), an archive that holds the music collections from three different religious womens’ schools that were active in Mexico City between the 16thand the 19thcenturies. The music works from the AMCV will be accessible through RISM’s database sometime early in 2019.

Dr. Lazos, quien ha colaborado con RISM catalogando mas de 500 obras musicales provenientes de México, acaba de recibir de recibir un apoyo del FONCA (Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes). Este apoyo permite al Dr. Lazos de catalogar alrededor de 450 obras musicales del Archivo Musical del Colegio de Vizcaínas (AMCV), un archivo que guardar las colecciones musicales de tres diferentes escuelas femeninas religiosas que estuvieron activas en la Ciudad de México entre los siglos XVI y XIX. Las obras musicales del AMCV estarán accesibles en la base de datos de RISM hacia principios de 2019.
