New RISM Tutorial in German

Monday, April 20, 2020

We are pleased to announce the release of a new tutorial in German about the RISM project and the online catalog. Musikwissenschaft: RISM – Internationales Quellenlexikon der Musik was produced by the musicology department of the Universität Tübingen as part of the series “Tübinger Tutorials zur Musikwissenschaft.”

The RISM video is one of four in the series. The others are about the Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart (MGG) encyclopedia, how to use MGG online, and research using RILM Abstracts of Music Literature.

The video was created as part of the project Entwicklung innovativer Curricula und praxisorientierter Lehrmodule (ICPL) to create tutorials on how to research using key musicological tools.

The RISM video covers the importance of musical sources, the structure of RISM’s printed catalogs, RISM library sigla, searching using the online catalog, lesser-known music, and using the advanced search.
